were you aware?

contrary to popular belief, burma is still in a mess. monks are urged by the local population not to go outside, and people are still being rounded up in the middle of the night. where do they go? to a military "facility" located near the center of myanmar, the junta's capitol. this former university campus has been converted for the military's use...but they don't really want to say what's going on in there. reporters are not allowed inside, and the perimiter is barracaded by armed military gaurds and rows of barbed wire. what's actually happening in burma?
monks are afraid for their lives, and any sign that they are against the military junta (such as a hidden picture of their democratic leader, Daw Aung San Suu Kyi) could land them in jail--or who knows where.

be aware.

Think about it!:
It is easy to feel like we are tiny in the face of such tragedy and horror, however....what are some things that we could do to voice our opinions on issues such as Burma, and make people aware of the reality so it is not

we can voice our horrors...that's fantastic. But even something as simple as getting the information out there is pretty powerful stuff. ignorance isn't bliss. just get the word out is step one...then go from there ;-)
